| I met Bert at Glen Major a couple of weekends ago while shooting panoramas of the Fall colours. He's 83 years young and has been painting for a good portion of those years. He was telling me that he takes a photograph of the scene with his digital camera so he has an exact record of the scene to work from when he gets to work on the actual painting in oils. He's making his preliminary painting here in pastels so he can have an accurate record of the colours, which the camera is unable to reproduce. He told me that he will most likely complete this work sometime in February. To my eyes, the pastel looks wall worthy. |
