Walkers Woods is part of a 1500+ hectare conservation area that includes Glen Major Forest, adjacent to the 400+ hectare Durham Forest. Walkers Woods is mainly reforested land with row after row of tall pine trees. The entire 1900 hectares consists of hundreds of kilometers of hiking, skiing, mountain bike, and horse riding trails, with many meadows, valleys, rolling, and steep hills. The elevation above sea level ranges from 200 - 300 meters, which makes for many steep trails. We've been hiking there for the last few weekends, and have only traveled about 5% of the trails. |
